Established in 1979, Peconic Bay Winery features some of the oldest and best-tended vines on the North Fork of Long Island. On January 21, 1999 Ursula and Paul Lowerre purchased the Peconic Bay Winery and entrusted the vineyard and the wine creation to operations manager Matthew Gillies and winemaker Greg Gove, two veterans of winemaking on the North Fork. "The Lowerres set out to craft the finest wines possible on this land," Matt says. "They’ve given us enviable amounts of resources along with the liberty to achieve something great."
PECONIC BAY CHARDONNAY STEEL FERMENTED 2006
|

This steel fermented Chardonnay has a zesty lemongrass nose that belies its fruit-sweet, mid-palate softness. This is framed by an appetite-whetting acidity that makes this wine a welcome companion for various styles of light, crisp, acidic seafood dishes.
