Domaine Jean Jacques Girard

The Girard family has been working the hills of Savigny les Beaune since the 16th century. Today, Jean Jacques farms the land of his ancestors with an intimate knowledge found in few cellars. Most of his 12 hectare estate is in the top sites of Savigny and Pernand, with a little Volnay and Corton Charlemagne. His regimen is one of a small amount of new oak, with the aim being fresh, cherry stone fruit found only in Burgundy. The red wines will reward aging and are great bargains. The whites are ripe and pure, good for immediate pleasure.

I have visited M. Girard on many occasions, a gentleman who lives up to every expectation of hospitality and grace. His wines are worth more than the asking.
