DASHWOOD SAUVIGNON BLANC 2008
This classically styled wine shows lifted passionfruit and fresh
tropical notes on the nose. These flavors follow through on to the richly structured palate, which has a long crisp finish.
The 2005 season produced small yields as a direct result of cool weather during December 2004 when the vines were flowering. Warm summer and autumn temperatures allowed the Sauvignon Blanc to ripen fully. As a result the wines have good concentration and flavour which was aided by the long autumn ripening period.
The 2005 Dashwood Sauvignon Blanc was produced from fruit grown in the Awatere and the Wairau Valleys of Marlborough. Blending fruit from both regions benefits the wine with the aromatics from the Wairau Valley and a mineral note from the Awatere Valley component.
