If we do not have the item that you are looking for we would be happy to attempt to special order it for you. Please note that all special orders are done in full case quantities only. 


What is your Shipping Policy?

Wine can be damaged by extreme temperatures, both hot and cold. Post Wine & Spirits will not ship wine during these times. We cannot be held responsible if you request shipment and the wines travel in a climate outside an acceptable temperature range. We are happy to hold your pre-paid order for up to six months at no additional charge if you would prefer to wait for a more suitable temperature. We are not responsible for any wines once they leave our premises via U.P.S. or any other common carrier. Please be advised that any claims are your responsibility between you and the carrier involved. Please be aware that claims are difficult and/or impossible due to the myriad of alcohol transport regulations that may or may not exist in your area.


We are unable to accept returns for any reason after one year from the invoice date.

We offer five shipping options:
Ground Service - approximately 2-5 business days in transit
2nd Day Air - 2 business days in transit
Next Day Air - 1 business day in transit
In House Delivery 

Original Wood Cases - Please enter a note in "Special Instructions" if you would like original woods shipped (if applicable) for your wine selection. A shipping for wood will be applied manually to your order once it is submitted.

IMPORTANT: Many states restrict the shipment of wine. We do apologize for the inconvenience if we are not able to service your area and do hope that you will help us in the fight to be able to provide you with the items you wish to purchase. We encourage you to contact your state legislators and let them know you support direct shipping. Item Availability
In some cases, when the inventory of an item is listed as "Limited Quantity Available" (as noted above the quantity selection buttons), there may be a delay while we double check our stock and check with the distributor in order to locate additional inventory. In the instances of older vintages and fine and rare wines, availability in many cases is extremely limited. We will do our best to fill your order but cannot be held responsible if an item is unobtainable at that time. If an item is unavailable it will be omitted from the final invoice and any applicable shipping charges will be adjusted.

By placing your order you have represented to Post Wine & Spirits that you are at least 21. All wines delivered must be received by an adult of legal drinking age; this also includes items shipped out of the United States.

Upon finalizing your sale over the web, you are certifying that you are of legal drinking age. IN MANY STATES FALSIFYING THIS INFORMATION IS A CRIME.

All phone orders must certify that they are and whoever is signing for the receipt of the order is 21 years of age. Falsifying any information via phone is a crime under the penalty of perjury.

All orders are shipped UPS Ground and if your order is time sensitive, please enter a note in "Special Instructions" upon submission of your order, otherwise please contact us at 516 921-1820 or via email at info@postwines.com and we will make every effort to comply with your request.

Our clientele is reminded that various states impose limitations on the quantity of alcoholic beverages, which may be purchased and brought into their jurisdiction by a purchaser from another state without requiring the purchaser, a seller or shipper to possess certain licenses or permits. Post Wine & Spirits does not, as a condition of sale, assume any obligation nor bear any responsibility whatsoever for applying or obtaining any permits or licenses. Therefore, we recommend that you investigate the possibility of such limitations and determine the manner in which alcoholic beverages shall be brought into your state from New York so as to comply with all of your state's requirements.

Post Wine & Spirits makes every effort to keep shipping charges as low as possible. However, increases in UPS shipping rates and shipping container costs require us to occasionally increase our shipping rates.

We cannot deliver to POST OFFICE Boxes! Please make sure there is a street address on all shipping destinations.


Insurance

You may choose insurance at the market rate for all UPS shipments. In the case that you receive damaged merchandise, you must inform Post Wine & Spirits of any broken or damaged bottles within two days of delivery. A call tag will be issued to pick this up at a chosen location and once the merchandise is returned to Post, a new shipment will be sent out. If you would like to decline this coverage please uncheck the acceptance box on the shipping form. By waiving the guarantee you relinquish Post of any and all responsibility of breakage or loss that may occur to your order.

Post Wine & Spirits offers FREE LOCAL DELIVERY on wine, spirits, and wine accessories on shipments over $100.00. Please inquire as to restrictions


Outside the State of New York

BLACKED-OUT /NO-SHIP (Common Carrier) STATES
Many states restrict or prohibit the shipment of wine. Placing an order with Post Wine & Spirits shows you understand the wine shipping rules of your state. We do apologize for the inconvenience if your state laws prevent us from servicing your area. If we are unable to arrange for shipping to you, you might wish to provide us with an alternate shipping address in a nearby state to enable you to make an online purchase. Please note that alternatives may be available. Please contact us to discuss.


Miscellaneous Charges

Please note that large format bottles will incur additional shipping charges (i.e., Magnums count as 2 bottles, 3 Liter sizes as 4 bottles, etc.) Also, optional gift wrapping and gift card/gift note charges may be added to the order shipping charges. 


Shipping Times

New York (1-2 Days):
Outside of New York: Delivery may take from 2-3 business days for nearby states, to up to 5-6 business days for states on the West Coast. Other states will take between 3-6 business days. Post Wine & Spirits cannot be responsible for delays due to lapses on the part of our common carriers. Holiday periods may add to shipping times.

Please note that most carriers, including UPS and FedEx do not deliver on weekends. Please keep this in mind when ordering, especially when ordering via Overnight or Second Day Air Service.


Partial Orders/Back Orders

Partial Orders/Back Orders short-shipped as standard practice. Once back-ordered items arrive, they will then be shipped (exceptions being gift items). You may request that your order be shipped in its entirety when it is fully assembled at our warehouse. Simply contact us at info@postwines.com.

Substitutions

Post Wine & Spirits does not intentionally substitute wines or vintages without prior authorization. If your selected wine is unavailable, you will be notified. The only exception would be gift orders that need to be shipped to meet holiday delivery and any such wine would be of equal or greater value. Because vintages can and do change often, sometimes without notice from our suppliers, we may not catch it in time and it may be shipped. If the wrong wine or vintage is inadvertently sent to you, let us know immediately if you wish to change it.

If a product offered is not as described, your sole remedy is to return it in unused condition. Because of the high volume and sometimes chaotic nature of our business, our inventory is constantly changing. New product shows up daily and allocated items do sell out. Our Web site is updated daily, though sometimes a wine sells out before the next update. Nearly all of the wines showing on our Web site are available for immediate delivery. Some wines, however, have not yet arrived in our warehouse. Orders placed for these wines will be shipped to you as soon as they are received; you will be notified if this is the case. Additional quantities of wines that are marked "Out of Stock" may in fact be available from our suppliers. Contact us at info@postwines.com if our website cannot accommodate you. Additionally, sometimes an item shows as being available, yet when we are down to just a few bottles, that item may, in fact, have sold out or we may have fewer than our website says. A bottle may have broken or a customer may be walking around our shop with your bottle in his hand! We apologize for this. We hope it's rare, but it does happen.


Availability/Accuracy

Every effort has been made to stock sufficient quantities of the fine wines featured in out catalogs and on our web site and to verify accurate pricing. However, many wines are made in small quantities, subject to accelerating market demands, with prices subject to fluctuations in currency exchange rates. Should any item you order be sold out, our staff will contact you regarding the disposition of the order. Prices are subject to change without notice. Please note that Post Wine & Spirits is not responsible for typographical errors of any kind.


Orders are Subject to Availability and Accurate Price

These can change due to shipping terms, taxes, items out of stock, a vintage change or simply a change in price (without notice) by the producer or distributor. You will be notified if there is a problem before we process the order. Our Web site is monitored Monday through Saturday from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM Eastern Standard Time. It takes approximately 1 to 2 business days to process your order, and then it is usually shipped out within 1 to 2 business days after processing. If you have a need for delivery by a certain date or need rush service, please be sure to email, place the appropriate comment in your order, or call us so that we can endeavor to meet your deadline. We will make every effort to accommodate you. However, our carriers may not guarantee a specific date shipped to residences if shipped via ground service. Delivery schedules do not apply in the event of service interruptions caused by events beyond the control of Post Wine & Spirits, including the failure of services provided by our carriers. Shipping to a business address can usually get your wine to you sooner. If you are within our local delivery area, we may be able to get your wine to you the next day either by our company delivery truck or via messenger service (at higher rates). We reserve the right to correct errors on pricing and to limit quantities.

Discounts/Promotions General Policies

Email Discounts/Promotions are exclusive to Online Sales/Orders placed via our Web site unless otherwise specified. Multiple Coupon Codes, Discounts or Promotions cannot be combined. Only one eligible discount per order. Spirits, Champagne, 'Cult Wines', Fine/Rare Wines, Wine Classes, Special Events, Wine Futures and Gift Certificates are NOT ELIGIBLE for discounts unless otherwise specified. All orders are subject to in-stock and accurate pricing verification. We reserve the right to adjust orders that ARE NOT ELIGIBLE for discount.


E-Commerce and Online Shopping

Purchasing items over the Internet usually requires you to provide your personal identifying information and credit card information on a Web site. Many people have become accustomed to on-line commerce as a time-saving and useful convenience. There are a number of practices that can make providing your sensitive credit card information more secure and therefore make you feel more comfortable about doing so.

We do process credit card payments for merchandise, or services on our Web site. We have the following e-commerce practices:

  • When processing your credit card payment, we will ask for the card type, number, expiration date, and your card's billing address.

What is Your Refund Policy?

Post Wine & Spirits guarantees quality products and service. Your satisfaction is our first priority. Word-of-mouth has been our strongest source of advertising since we opened in 1965. If, for any reason, you are dissatisfied with your order, we request that you contact us within 30 days of receipt of your order for customer care assistance. For fastest results, contact us by emailing info@postwines.com.

Because of the fees charged by your credit card company when we charge and subsequently credit your card, we may enforce the collection of our restocking fee, 5% of the order total. The circumstances surrounding the order may impact our enforcement of this policy.

When returning wine, kindly re-cork the bottle (no more than ¼ consumed) and ship it back to us. Please call or email us for shipping instructions so we are aware of the return. We will promptly investigate the issue and will contact you.

As is tradition in the wine trade, all bottles 10 years or older are purchased at the buyer's risk.

How can I participate in Small Business Saturday? Do I need to “sign up”?

No, you don’t have to “sign up” to be a part of Small Business Saturday. The day is for all to celebrate you and the contribution your business makes to the community and the economy. Thus, whether you are a brick-and-mortar retail store, restaurant or online-only business, just by being a small business owner, you’re already a part of it. As such, participation is as simple as being open for business this November 24th.
